According to the May 2004 Investment Environment Risk Assessment report by Switzerland's Business Enterprise Risk Investigation Company, Taiwan ranked 5th among the 50 countries evaluated, ranking only behind Switzerland, Singapore, Holland and Japan, 3rd in Asia. Also, BERI forecast that Taiwan's ranking after five years will gradually rise, which reflects Taiwan's excellent potential as an ideal long-term investment environment. Furthermore, compared to other Asian countries, Taiwan has more stable economics, businesses have strong adaptability to change, financial organizations have well-developed systems, and there is an abundance of foreign reserves. These factors have made Taiwan an important destination for overseas investors. |
